Atlanta, Georgia, June 2026. InEvent, the enterprise event management platform for in-person, hybrid, and virtual experiences, has introduced a new Waiting Room capability designed to support large-scale event registration and ticketing experiences during periods of exceptionally high demand.
The enhancement automatically manages surges in simultaneous traffic by creating a virtual queue for attendees attempting to access registration and purchase forms when demand exceeds predefined thresholds.
As organizations continue to host larger conferences, fan experiences, corporate events, and ticketed programs, registration systems are increasingly required to accommodate thousands of concurrent users accessing these experiences.
The new Waiting Room technology was developed to help event organizers maintain a more consistent registration experience during these peak moments while improving overall platform efficiency.
"When large audiences attempt to access registration simultaneously, the challenge is no longer simply collecting registrations. It's ensuring a reliable and predictable experience for every attendee attempting to secure access," said the InEvent team. "The Waiting Room gives organizers an additional layer of scalability while providing attendees with greater transparency during high-demand registration periods."
When activated, the system automatically places incoming visitors in a temporary queue and provides visibility into their position in line, along with an estimated wait time before they can access the registration or purchase experience.
The capability also recognizes repeated page refreshes and manages visitor sessions through temporary browser cookies, helping maintain queue integrity while reducing unnecessary system load during periods of elevated demand.
The feature was designed for use cases where registration demand can spike significantly in a short period, including large conferences, fan experiences, sporting events, corporate programs, limited-capacity events, product launches, and high-demand ticket releases.
By intelligently managing simultaneous access requests, event organizers can better control traffic flow while preserving a smooth registration experience for attendees.
The introduction of Waiting Room technology reflects a broader trend across the event industry, where audience expectations increasingly mirror those of major consumer ticketing platforms. Attendees expect real-time updates, transparent access processes, and reliable registration experiences even during periods of intense demand.
For enterprise event teams, these expectations place greater importance on registration infrastructure that can scale with growing event audiences.
The Waiting Room capability is now available within the InEvent platform and forms part of the company's ongoing investment in event registration technology, attendee experience optimization, and enterprise-scale event operations.
