Ernesto Araújo

Ministro das Relações Exteriores / Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ernesto Araújo joined the Brazilian Diplomatic Academy (IRBr) in 1990. He then worked in the area of regional integration, in the Brazilian mission to the European Commission, and in the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin. From 2004 to 2006, in Brasilia, he headed the Division of Services, Investments, and Financial Affairs and the Division of European Union and Extra-Regional Negotiations. From 2007 to 2010, he served in Ottawa and, from 2010 to 2015, in Washington (Deputy Head of Mission). From 2015 to 2016, he was deputy head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. From 2016 to 2019, he was director of the Department of United States, Canada, and Inter-American Affairs. Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2019. He published “Mercosur Today” (co-author) and “Mercosur: Extra-Regional Negotiations”.

Tarcísio Freitas

Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas holds a degree in civil engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering, specializing in project management, and a master's degree in transportation engineering.

He previously served as Project Coordination Secretary at the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) of the Presidency of the Republic, legislative adviser at the House of Representatives, deputy executive and managing director at the National Department of Transportation Infrastructure (DNIT), CGU General Audit Area Coordinator, auditing director in the area of infrastructure of the federal government comptroller division, head of the Technical Session of the Companhia de Engenharia de Força e Paz, and army engineer

Rogério Marinho

Ministro de Estado do Desenvolvimento Regional / Minister of Regional Development

Rogerio Simonetti Marinho is an economist and professor. In the Jair Bolsonaro government, he served as special secretary of Social Security and Labor of the Ministry of Economy during the approval of the New Social Security, a period in which he also led a series of measures to modernize labor rules.

In February of this year, he was appointed to the position of Minister of Regional Development, in charge of Water Security, Sanitation, Housing, Mobility, Regional Development and Civil Defense. 

Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, he was a federal deputy for three terms. In the House of Representatives, he reported the project that modernized labor legislation. 

In the state, he acted as: councilman; president of the Municipal Chamber of Natal; municipal secretary of Planning and state secretary of Economic Development.

Sergio Segovia

Sergio Ricardo Segovia Barbosa, 56, is a retired Rear Admiral of the Brazilian Navy. With recognized professional experience in military, managerial, and governmental affairs, he has worked in Intelligence Analysis, Military Operations, and Logistics. He also worked in Emergency and Risk Management, Maritime Safety, Strategic Planning, Navigation, and Maritime Operations. Moreover, in the area of foreign trade, he was responsible for logistics and international acquisitions when in charge of the team that received the Brazilian Navy polar ship Almirante Maximiano. Segovia has a postgraduate degree in Politics and Strategy from the War College. He has been the President of Apex-Brasil since May 2019.

Augusto Pestana

Augusto Pestana graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo. A Diplomat since 1995, he concluded at Rio Branco Institute the Courses of Formation, Improvement and High Studies (professional doctorate) with a thesis on international cooperation in energy, science and technology.

He served at the Brazilian Embassies in New Zealand (Minister-Councillor), Japan (Minister) and Germany (Head of the Economic Sector). He was Assistant Professor of Diplomatic Language at Instituto Rio Branco and member of the jury of the Competition for Admission to the Diplomatic Career. He is the author, among other works, of "ITER: Brazil and the paths of fusion energy" (Funag, 2015).

Martha Seillier

Special Secretary of the Secretariat for Investment Partnerships Program

Experience: She was Director of the Department of Regulation and Competition of Civil Aviation (DERC) at the Secretariat for Civil Aviation (SAC-PR), from 2011 to 2016, and Coordinator of the Department of Policies of the same body in 2010. She was the first woman to ever hold the position of CEO of Infraero, in January 2018.

Academic background: She holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Brasilia/UnB. She began her career in public service as Specialist in Public Policies and Government Management, attending classes at the National School of Public Administration/ENAP. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Brasilia/UnB, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Centro Universitário de Brasília/UniCEUB.

Fábio Almeida Abrahão

Fábio Almeida Abrahão holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a master’s degree in Business from Institute Coppead/UFRJ. He also attended specialization in Management, Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)/Sloan.

He worked as special advisor to the minister of state for Economy. As a founding partner of Infra Partners Investimentos, he led more than 40 infrastructure investment decisions and turnaround initiatives. He was the founder of two technology-based logistics operators, operating in all regions of Brazil and Latin American countries.

Norman F. Anderson

CEO - CG/LA Infrastructure

Mr. Anderson focuses on the value of infrastructure in generating economic growth, recovery from Covid-19 and long-term benefits for people around the world. In this role he is in constant contact with leaders in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America, focused on innovative ways to #CreateGreat projects. He is actively working with the OECD on a new infrastructure dynamism to emerging markets, especially including Latin America. He also oversees CG/LA’s Leadership

Forum series, including events focused on Latin American, North American and Global Infrastructure projects. Note: Each event features and hosts the Top 100 infrastructure projects.

Mr. Anderson is, or has been, a member of various World Economic Forum groups, including the Global Advisory Council on Infrastructure, the Strategic Infrastructure Initiative, and the Advisory Committee on Building Foundations for Transparency. He initiated and co-authored the WEF’s study on Accelerating Infrastructure Delivery (May 2014). For the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee he authored a White Paper on economic statecraft, focused on infrastructure markets worldwide (June 2014). He has taught at Columbia University in New York City, teaching a course on Engineering & Entrepreneurship. He is a partner in CAMG, a pan-Atlantic infrastructure fund.

He is a regular contributor to CNBC, Bloomberg, CBC and Fox Business News, and is a contributor to forbes.com, focusing on infrastructure, technology and the benefits of infrastructure for people in the US and global infrastructure markets. Mr. Anderson began his career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, serving for a total of five years. He is married to the former Ingrid Sckell, and has two children - Norman Gabriel (33), an attorney in Washington, DC; and Janina Victoria (31), a visual artist in Toronto, Canada. He speaks four languages, including Portuguese, Spanish and Guarani. He has a graduate degree from Harvard University.

Venilton Tadini

Venilton Tadini has been the executive president of the Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industries (ABDIB) since January 2016.

He served as president and member of the Administrative Board at Banco Fator. He also served as Director of Infrastructure and Planning at BNDES (1990-1992), as well as Director at the Brazilian National Treasury. He is an economist and has a master’s degree in economics from the University of São Paulo (USP). He coordinated and taught in the Mergers and Acquisitions Program at FGV-PEC.

Roberto Escoto, Head of Investment Department of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), is a Major General of the Brazilian Army (Retired). He graduated from the Brazil Military Academy (AMAN) and holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Brasilia (UnB) and a PhD in Military Sciences from the Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME).

Along 37 years in the military, he served in several advisory, leadership and command positions in Brazil and abroad. Between 2008 and 2010, he was the Army Attaché's Deputy at the Brazilian Embassy in the United States and Canada. During this period, he headed the Brazilian Army Commission in Washington (CEBW), a body responsible for international purchases of defense material. He also worked at the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) and at the United Nations Department of Peace Operations in New York.
