Dr. Bhui is a triple US board-certified physician practicing in BC with multinational practice experience including general and subspecialty medicine in the inpatient, outpatient, and virtual settings. Beyond direct clinical care, his background includes information technology, healthcare policy, and business administration, and he has further training and experience in healthcare leadership, quality improvement, innovation, biodesign, and governance.

Passionate about teaching, he has lectured internationally in addition to training undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners within the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine. He has also enjoyed collaborating with and serving on committees and Boards at the local, provincial, state, national, and international levels.

Ty is the Industry Principal for Healthcare at Medigate by Claroty. He has over 30 years experience in introducing disruptive technologies to improve healthcare information management. He is also an ambassador with the HHS 405(d) Program and Task Group which was responsible for the recognized security practices referenced in the new HITECH amendment more commonly known as the Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices: Managing Threats and Protecting Patients. Ty is a member of the Healthcare Sector Coordinating Council and participates on several of the work groups including Legacy Medical Devices and Model Contracts for the Cybersecurity of Medical Devices. He has authored dozens of articles and is a frequent speaker promoting Operational Technology cybersecurity within healthcare.

Quraish Khumri, CISA, M. Sc., B.A is the Manager of Information Security at Fraser Health with 10+ years experience in Technology Risk Management, Cyber security, IT compliance and IT Audit. He has worked for Big 4 accounting firms, a major media conglomerate, and a major clearing house in the U.S. Over the years his initiatives include leading, designing, developing and implementing innovative business processes that keep best cyber security practices in mind.

He has a degree from the University of St. Thomas in Software Engineering with a concentration in Bioinformatics as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College with majors in Computer Science and Business Management. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Penny Longman is the Director, Information Security and Data Stewardship at Fraser Health. She has experience in a variety of industries across Canada, in IT and Security and is especially passionate about real transformational change in security awareness and management within organisations.

Gordon leads the technical services at the Health Data Coalition. Including development, data services, technical support, privacy and security operations. He brings over 20 years of experience in software development and Information technology with a track record of ensuring solid returns on investment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and an MBA from Queen’s University.

Emil is a clinical engineer with Interior Health Authority, with a background in medical device asset management, cybersecurity risk assessment, and device discovery platform implementation. He also brings considerable experience in medical device development, with previous research endeavours being focused on additive manufacturing of medical devices and applications of biocompatible polymers. Emil has been involved in a number of cybersecurity-centric committees at both the regional and national levels, and is committed to furthering the development of medical device cybersecurity guidance documentation for application in the clinical environment.

Delphine Struk is the Manager, Data Governance & Stewardship, at Interior Health, where she and her team are responsible for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. She aims at providing people with confidence in the data and establish an organization-wide data culture build on guidelines and standards.

Delphine has 15 years experience in healthcare and analytics and is passionate about making data, technology and knowledge accessible to all.

Adam Zoller is the Chief Information Security Officer for Providence, a system of passionate providers focused on partnering with people to simplify health care. With 50+ hospitals, 1000+ clinics and hundreds of locally driven programs administered by over 120,000+ caregivers, Providence is improving the health of communities we serve, especially the poor and vulnerable. In this role, Adam is responsible to Providence’s leadership team for driving information security strategy and execution across Providence’s information ecosystem.

Victor Badejo is a Cyber Security Manager in PwC’s Consulting practice based in Vancouver. He has over 5 years of experience helping retail, public sector and financial services clients develop and sustain their information security programs. Victor has been involved in cloud security assessments and implementations, security architecture and deployment of enterprise SIEM/SOC solutions for multiple organizations across Western Canada.

Victor currently serves as the certifications Director at ISACA Vancouver Chapter and an Advisory Board member at New York Tech Vancouver’s cybersecurity program. Victor has a Masters Degree in Information, Network and Computer Security and holds the CISSP and CISA designations.

Kathleen, a former Chief Privacy Officer for one of Canada’s largest banks, is a Managing Director with PwC and leads the Canadian Privacy team. She is a seasoned leader and communicator with over 20 years’ leadership experience across several disciplines including Privacy/Compliance, Program Management and Marketing. She has led more than 100 initiatives focused on, among other things, regulatory change, business transformation, data analytics, process improvement, enhanced employee experience, data trust, and improved customer loyalty. Kathleen has a passion for aligning teams from disparate backgrounds on a common purpose that seeks to the optimum employee and customer experiences and striking the right risk balance.

Elson Kung is a governance, risk and compliance practitioner at HSBC, where he guides leaders to recognize, reduce, and avoid operational risk. Recently, he started Cactimo to provide cyber and related GRC advisory services. Elson has hands-on and leadership experience in risk and control monitoring, security incident and privacy breach management, operational risk management, assurance, Basel data maintenance, and SOX. He is an occasional guest speaker in media and industry events.

Before this, he worked in service and sales, business analysis, IT project management, and cyber security. He is a University of British Columbia graduate and holds professional designations in information systems audit and project management (CISA, PMP).

Alvin Madar is a Cyber Security Partner in PwC’s Vancouver office with over 20 years of experience in information security. Alvin has been involved in strategy development, solution architecture, threat and vulnerability management, and deployment of many enterprise solutions for multiple financial institutions across BC. He has been involved in a number of IT transformation projects, and has worked as interim CISOs for a number of organizations, helping to develop their information security programs. Alvin is also a leading subject matter specialist in cyber incident response advisory, helping clients through breach preparedness, breach response and compromise assessments.

Stephen has a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineers from Cape Peninsular University South Africa. He also holds professional designations in Security Management, Intrusion Detection, Incident Response and Forensics from the SANS Institute. Stephen holds a MBA through SFU’s Beedie School of Business. His Information Security career began in the mid-nineties connecting corporations to the Internet. Prior to joining Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union as Director information Security in 2017, Stephen spent 20 years in the Telecom sector (Telus) where he held a variety of security leadership roles.

Maleena Singh works for PwC within the Cyber Forensics Investigations team, helping companies respond and remediate from cyber incidents, as well as working with companies to proactively prepare themselves against attacks. Prior to PwC, Maleena spent 23 years with the RCMP. The majority of her career was focused on fraud related investigations, before helping to create the Provincial Cyber Team in British Columbia. The last 4 years she was the team lead for the BC Cyber Team, working to assist cyber and cyber enabled investigations locally and internationally.

Mr. Ashief is a steadfast and experienced cyber security professional with a demonstrated fourteen years history of working in various industries such as Government, Utilities, Energy, BPO, Telco, and Retail sectors.

He is working as a IT Security Architect at the Provincial Health Services Authority, BC and the duties are including but are not limited to all aspects of security, governance, risk, and compliance. Ashief received his Master of Information Technology and MBA (major in Management Information Systems) from the University of Dhaka and holds 35 IT and Security related certifications CISA, CISM, CDPSE, CCSK, and other designations. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer science and Engineering. Mary Carmichael is an operational risk and security metrics consultant with a passion for solving problems with data. She brings her expertise in strategic planning, service delivery, risk management, and cybersecurity to help organizations visualize what risk-based decision-making really looks like in practice. Her superpower is making the vision of integrated risk management a reality with an innovative and procedural approach that fits the culture of the organization.

Mary has over 15 years of experience in various sectors including financial services, utilities, higher education and government and is currently working with ISACA International on its Agile Risk Management framework and sits on its Global Risk Advisory Committee. She has the following designations – CPA, MBA, CISA, CRISC, PMP, COSO, ITIL, and CSM.

Todd is the Cybersecurity Program Coordinator and Instructor for the Abbotsford School District Careers Department. He also serves as the Chair of the High School Partnership Program on the ISACA Vancouver Board. With the ongoing labour shortage in the cybersecurity industry in British Columbia and globally, Palo Alto Networks partnered with a number of school districts in BC to promote cybersecurity among high school students, and to certify them with entry level certification, skills and knowledge. Todd has brought this program to fruition in Abbotsford and promotes high school cybersecurity across the province through his role with ISACA. He believes that we shouldn’t wait until students graduate high school, let alone post-secondary before we prepare them for a career in cybersecurity. Let’s work together to bring this about today.

Anthony Green is currently the Manager of Security Operations and Compliance Manager (MSOC) at Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. the MSOC`s key responsibility is leading the team in charge of creating the security program. This includes a mixture of managing security staff and security vendors.

Anthony is also currently working with UBC as their Lead for Cybersecurity Academic Programs and is working on creating a professional certificate in cyber security program management. In the evenings Anthony teaches the Cyber Security Micro-Credential at UBC.

Anthony is very enthusiastic about giving back to the local Information Security community through mentoring young graduates and teaching local small businesses the fundamentals of cybersecurity that they would otherwise not have been exposed to.

Rossilyne Tan is an avid cybersecurity practitioner who focuses on bridging the gap between technology and its users. Her expertise lies in security awareness and endpoint protection. She often conducts speaking engagements to educate corporations on the current threat landscape and how to prevent users from falling trap on the latest phishing tactics.

Her experience working in both the public and private sectors has shaped her approach in ensuring that her clients receive accurate and actionable security strategies.

In her spare time, she volunteers for ISACA Vancouver Chapter as the Vice President. Prior to that, she was the director of SheLeadsTech and the associate director of the Programs Committee. Her goal is to give back to the community that has inspired and empowered her to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the technology sector.

Rishabh has been in Information Security field for close to 15 years. His experience varies from doing strategic security consulting to creating and implementing strategic security and compliance programs in organizations of various industry verticals. He also has varied experience in audit, regulatory compliance, privacy, and IT governance areas as well.

Rishabh is currently working as the Director of Cybersecurity & IT Governance at City of Burnaby.

Ryan Berger is a leading privacy and employment lawyer, with a primary focus on providing strategic advice to businesses and employers. Ryan leads the firm’s Privacy Group and routinely advises public and private sector organizations on data protection, business confidentiality and privacy compliance, risk management strategies, breach response, access to information, and litigation. Ryan manages breach response teams for clients, including forensic investigation, crisis communications and notification. Morgan is a cybersecurity practitioner with a background of network and security administration accumulated for the last 15 years. His transcontinental experience consists of a variety of industries including gaming, energy, IT consulting, advertising, and public sector.

As City of North Vancouver’s Manager of IT Security, Morgan has a passion for advocating a cooperative approach to cybersecurity. He firmly believes that it takes a village to effectively manage cyber risks and threats.

Away from his work, Morgan loves staying physically and mentally active through biking, hiking, and playing both video and boardgames.

Chris Hughes grew up on the east coast of Canada in Nova Scotia. He graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Upon graduation the call of he mountains brought him to Banff, AB with the intention to spend six months learning how to snowboard. Over twenty years later he still calls Banff home. His work experience includes ten years working in Leadership Development at the Banff Centre. Chris then went on to attain his CPA and joined the Town of Banff in 2008 as the Finance Officer, then the Manager of Finance and is now the Director of Corporate Services for the Town. Working for a municipality in a National Park with four million visitors a year brings a lot of unique challenges, but also comes with a lot of unique benefits.

When Chris isn’t working, he likes to spend time with his wife, two children and his dog. He coaches his son’s hockey team and is the president of Banff Minor Hockey. He still loves to snowboard in the winter and is an avid trail runner in the summer.

Teague Lander is a Programmer/Analyst with the Municipal Finance Authority of BC (MFABC). He led the migration to cloud for the MFA’s Financial Management System, manages the system environment, and is AWS Security certified. Teague graduated from the University of Victoria in Computer Science, with a specialization in Computer Communications and Networks, and initially worked in industry on actuarial software prior to joining the MFA in 2019. Teague comes from a large extended family and enjoys spending time with his many siblings, nephews, and nieces.

Erica joined the MIABC’s Insurance Department as the Insurance Programs Administrator in May 2018. Erica’s role is strongly member-focused. She is the in-house subject matter expert for ancillary policy placements. She assesses and responds to our members’ calls for changes to insurance programs and assists our members in interpreting policy language. Erica also processes renewals, responds to new business opportunities, and assists in the development of the Insurance Department’s business infrastructure.
