Welcome to CRITICAL CHAIN 2020

The main conference takes place on 23 and 24 November.

Our pre-event materials - listed on this platform under the date 26 October - are for attendees new to the Critical Chain method.  A range of PDFs and short videos will give you a basic understanding of the method, and some of the main differences to other techniques.  We hope these will help you to get more out of the main conference.

Free attendees will be able to watch the live session as they occur from 13:00-18:00 GMT/UCT.  You will need a Full-access ticket (www.criticalchain2020.com) for 90-days OnDemand access, allowing you to watch presentations at your convenience.

Conference Organiser

This conference is being organised by a team of volunteer members of the TOCICO.  TOCICO is the global body that brings together people and knowledge related to TOC.

The committee consists of experienced project managers and consultants who passionately believe that the tools of TOC and CC make great additions to a project manager's toolkit.

For many years the TOCICO has organised global events bringing together practitioners, students and experts in TOC.  This conference seeks to make some of that experience available to the wider project management community.

TOCICO members have access to a rich and growing repository of videos and documents covering not only project management but the wider TOC body of knowledge .

André Kriger leads the IT organization from Telefonica Vivo, responsible for formulating their vision and execution of their respective strategies. Under his purview, IT is responsible for serving almost 100 million customers in Brazil. Within Vivo there are over 6500 personnel working at IT, both insourced and outsourced. 

As the Chief Information Officer, André concentrates on enabling key business transformations projects in B2C and B2B markets, focusing to improve the Customer Experience through adopting the newest technologies and creating platforms that meet rapidly the scale efficiency and provide agile service delivery, leveraging the company leadership for their innovative achievements spanning digital transformation. 

André also leads the IT2X Program which goal is to multiply the throughput to the business and better delivery time for the projects executed in IT. 

André has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from FAE, Curitiba Brazil and MBA from the FW Ollin Business School at Babson College in Massachusetts. 

André has been appointed as finalist for the TM Forum Excellence Awards 2019.

Christo Wentzel is Project Manager at Centurion Systems in South Africa.

He has worked for Centurion since 2013, when they bought the company Christo had founded.

He studied electrical engineering at Vaal University of technology, and after a few years working as an engineer, moved into project management.

Christo is an avid Mountain Bike rider and runner, and has taken part in most of the endurance events in South Africa

He describes himself as a family man, married for 21years, with two kids and living in lovely South Africa.

Originally a trained aircraft maintainer, Simon was one of the key team members on the LIF / BAE Systems CCPM implementation. He has gone on to manage a fleet of fighter jets, manage Project Control for the Aerospace Business Unit, and now manages Project Control for BAE Systems Australia.

He dislikes job titles, and prefers to describe people according to what they do, not what they’re called. 

He is more than happy to tell you about the problems (and successes) faced during the last 5 years, in the interests of expanding the global pool of knowledge and experience with CC.

Alex Klarman - is the CEO of the Goldratt Institute (Israel), and Question Mark Ltd. Alex is leading the effort to introduce TOC to, and establish it as the standard anagement approach in Israel, as well as worldwide. 

Since 1985 he has helped develop and implement TOC and CCPM with some of the world’s leading corporations, including the likes of Ford, Philips, Intel, Teva, Israeli Aircraft Industry and Microsoft. The projects’ areas ranged from IT to manufacturing, logistics, construction and infrastructure in the technology, bio-med and aerospace fields.

In the last decade Alex has led teams coordinating work on some of the greatest infrastructure projects, be it a city preparing for the UEFA EURO 2012 games, the construction of a top-notch science center, or building a museum based designed by one of world’s leading iconic architects. All these were characterized by tight schedules, faced myriad unexpected problems while under scrutiny by media and critical public opinion.

Asaf Morag is the author of "The Manager's Dilemma", in which he blended ideas from TOC and Game theory. He addresses the issues of multi-party projects where each party has interests and rewards that are not aligned with the project objectives. 

He adjusted CCPM to suit public infrastructures and construction projects and founded a startup providing a cloud ecosystem for the management of such projects.

Asaf's book and cloud ecosystem are based upon 30 years of working as a project manager, scheduler, contract manager and claims manager for most of Israel's big contractors, as well as for the Israeli roads and railroad authorities.
