Recent changes to Tax Legislation and Transfer Pricing regulations on the Global Trade landscape have created various challenges, but also opportunities for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers with global supply chains. This session will explore the financial, tax, and operational implications of these changes. Jacqueline Torcellini

Jacqueline Torcellini is a Senior International Trade Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service, Middletown, Connecticut Office, a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration. She has been providing international business support for over a decade and has assisted scores of businesses to either start exporting or expand their existing international business.

Jacqueline
holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations from Southern Connecticut State University. Her years of experience in business development, financial management, operations, training, and communications, turned out to be a great foundation from which to expand to the intricacies of conducting international business.
Jacqueline believes U.S. companies can strengthen their business by diversifying their client portfolio through expansion to appropriate international markets. She is excited to be able to support U.S. companies, by helping them identify top markets for their products, determine the best market entry strategy and how to harness the resources available to them on the federal and state level, so they can make exporting a part of their business growth strategy.

Jan Smallenbroek

Managing Director, National Practice Leader, International Tax and Transfer Pricing

Jan is the National Practice Leader International Tax and Transfer Pricing and part of the National Tax Office. He focuses on supply chain and services structures and

the related international tax and transfer pricing implications, assisting companies to structure their manufacturing, distribution and services models efficiently. Jan also assists with global tax rate restructurings, tax filings, compliance, and transactional due diligence services.

 

Jan has over 30 years of experience navigating international tax and transfer pricing planning. He was a Sr partner with one of the “Big 4” firms for most of his career and held leadership roles within the Global International Tax and Transfer Pricing service line.

Jan has assisted many medium- and large-sized U.S., Asian and EU multinational-listed companies (including private equity, information technology, and SaaS companies) with tax audits, tax rulings, tax planning, unilateral/bilateral Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), and transfer pricing studies worldwide.

Jan is a frequent speaker on the topics of tax-optimized business models, migration of intangibles and international tax and transfer pricing planning.

Jeff Rossi

New England Consumer & Industrial Products Leader, Marcum LLP

Jeff Rossi is an Assurance partner in the Firm’s Hartford, Connecticut office and serves as the New England Consumer & Industrial Products leader. He has nearly 30 years of experience providing audit and assurance services to tier one aerospace / defense, automotive, food manufacturing, sanitation / recycling, construction, and logistics companies.

Jeff has worked with privately owned and private equity-owned companies and is focused on EBITDA enhancement and value creation. He has worked with several clients as lead advisor on mergers and acquisitions as well as divestitures.

Before joining Marcum in 2022, Jeff served as an office managing partner, executive board member and the manufacturing industry co-leader for a large national accounting and advisory firm in Connecticut, providing assurances services to a variety of clients.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Jeff also holds the credentials of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Jeff has extensive experience in forensic accounting, internal controls and fraud prevention. Jeff also passed the Certified Fraud Deterrence Analyst exam in 2005 and earned the Certified Valuation Analyst credential in 2006.

He was recognized in the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2007 and received the Fairfield/Westchester Business Journal’s Most Trusted Advisor award in 2017.
