Sabesp is a corporation founded in 1973 that is responsible for the water supply, the collection and the treatment of sewage from 368 cities in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. It is one of the biggest sanitation companies in the world, serving 27.9 million people while offering consulting, planning, and management services in Panama.

The Sabesp Strategic Realignment was an event with approximately 330 participants, among them, president and managers. The event’s objective was to present Sabesp’s statistics, goals, and new strategies to their employees.

This event promoted lectures to inspire innovation at Sabesp. Several companies presented innovative solutions and went through processes of digital transformation, which is often not common at the industry in which Sabesp is a part of. Nonetheless, innovative initiatives implemented by organizations in sectors similar to Sabesp were mentioned, inspiring their employees to improve their customers' experience.

According to Roseli Chistoni, manager of socio-environmental responsibility at Sabesp, the event sought digital transformation through facilitating accreditation and interactivity with participants. 'In the past, at the accreditation stage, we had to count the attendees while watching several queues being formed for the signature of the lists. It was also necessary to check manually if the directors were present', said Roseli.

Thus, the 2018 event edition had to facilitate the event accreditation with QR Codes, digitize all communication using interactive surveys, promote interaction among participants with the event mobile app and create live interactive questions with speakers.

    Live App

    InEvent Access Control was used at the event so that management could monitor in real-time how many people were arriving at the event, as well as their identities. Participants checked in at self service kiosks using encrypted and unique QR Codes that were available on their smartphones, emails or event app. Queues became a thing of the past using InEvent QR Codes.

    Event interactive app

    InEvent developed a branded event app for Sabesp event, which greatly improved their communication methods. 'By using InEvent solutions we did not need to send anything by email. Now, we can do everything with our smartphones, event app, QR Codes, in real time... Everything happened online, with several interactions, comments and questions using live the tool', said Roseli Chistoni.

    The entire communication among participants was through their smartphones. The event app featured a unique news feed, push notifications, and a calendar with all event activities. Through it, attendees also had access to a secure voucher with their QR Code.

    With information being updated in real time, the event app also gained momentum and more interactive engagement. During lectures, the event app was responsible for fostering live questions. Participants were able to present questions to speakers live, communicate with each other, share ideas, and evaluate the event using event app surveys. There were 111 messages exchanged and 22,868 captured data points.
